Robert Birdsall has over 25 years of project management and project controls experience that has been applied to Engineering and Construction, Aerospace and Defense, Government, Transportation, Manufacturing and Utilities. His experience includes implementation of software systems, integration and related process development and training directed toward Enterprise, Program, Portfolio and Project Management and Project Controls.
Primavera Experience
Engagement Manager and Principal Consultant for Middough, Inc’s Implementation of Primavera (P6) and Contract Manager. The project featured P6 and Contract Manager in a hosted environment accessible via the web. An integration with Oracle financials provides Middough with an enhanced ability to manage engineering projects and produce combined schedule, cost and earned value reports.
Principle APM Consultant teamed with a Primavera lead for an enterprise implementation of P6 at American Electric Power. The implementation design brings AEP Transmission, Distribution and Station projects together in a corporate wide EPS to provide visibility across project types and regions. Training, process development and documentation following the Primavera Implementation Methodology provided this client with a complete enterprise implementation.
Consultant for the Marathon Petroleum Company implementation of Primavera Enterprise. The project consisted of data conversion from Artemis, development of improved business procedures, rollout at seven plants, integration with MPC’s timekeeping system and transition to industry best practice standards in project management.
Consultant/Trainer for Bell Helicopter’s implementation of a Primavera Enterprise system featuring development of an ANSI 748a compliant EVMS, integrations with legacy systems, an on-line process and procedure library and related training.
Consultant/Trainer for the Primavera Systems lead U.S. Navy EVMS implementation. The project team designed and implemented an ANSI 748a compliant enterprise management system to manage Navy projects and resources.
Consultant/Trainer for the Primavera lead U.S. Army Corps of Engineers enterprise management system. Trained Corps personnel at Seattle, Omaha and Chicago in the Corps of Engineers system.
Engagement Manager for the Navistar implementation of Primavera Enterprise. Worked with Navistar IT to pilot a corporate project and resource management system that featured project conversions and standardizations, Primavera Timesheets and development of methodologies for managing IT and engineering effort.
Lead Consultant for Argonne National Laboratories initial pilot implementation of Primavera Enterprise. Worked with Argonne IT to develop a pilot implementation of P3e. The pilot became a base on which a full featured EVMS system was later built.
Consultant on the Marshall Erdman and Associates P3e implementation that included process design, coding structure, data conversion from P3, timesheet integration to payroll, integration to ERP resource information for managing projects from proposal to closeout including design, engineering and construction.
Engagement Manager and Lead Consultant for the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District’s implementation of Primavera Enterprise. Designed a program and project management system for one of the first implementations in the nation and one which has seen evolution through all the versions of the Primavera tool suite since the first release.
