Accelerated PM, LLC provides custom training for Marathon Oil Company schedulers to improve Routine Daily Maintenance and allow for compliance reporting.

Many oil refineries use Primavera Project Management integrated with a work order creation/tracking system to schedule the thousands of work orders needed for their plants to perform effectively. Marathon Oil Company is one of these and when they needed help to upgrade to Primavera P6 and redesign their scheduling processes to take advantage of Primavera’s enhancements they turned to AcceleratedPM, LLC.

Accelerated PM, LLC assigned Terry Schaefer, a Schedule Consultant, to join the team on site visits and to train schedulers on the new capabilities.  To provide reinforcement for the training the schedulers received during the site visits, Mr. Schaefer developed custom online training sessions and conducted these on a weekly basis over four weeks.  The APM involvement in the redesign of their scheduling processes allowed Marathon Oil Company to utilize Primavera P6 on an enterprise level more effectively providing a high return on their investment in the tool.  Mr. Schaefer has continued to support Marathon Oil Company’s Routine Daily Maintenance, the work required to keep a refinery running efficiently and safely, at their seven oil refineries for the past several months.

Marathon Routine Daily Maintenance schedulers and central support team continue to require occasional support as processes change or improvements are made.  Most recently, compliance reporting is being reactivated.  Mr. Schaefer and the APM team have been instrumental in advising Marathon’s central support team and validating the compliance reporting process, a maintenance industry standard methodology to measure the overall effectiveness of work order scheduling and completion. Marathon will go live with the new compliance reporting in the first quarter of 2010.
