Accelerated PM, LLC implements schedule compliance measurement reporting for Marathon Oil Company for use in Routine Daily Maintenance

When Marathon Oil Company began the process to upgrade Oracle Primavera P6’s use in Routine Daily Maintenance, they came to Accelerated PM, LLC for help.  Initially, Marathon asked for advice on Schedule Compliance Measurement Reporting.  A simple definition of schedule compliance is a “measure of adherence to the maintenance schedule.”  Dennis Lane, an Accelerated PM Principal Consultant, came to their aid with advice and documentation on industry standards for schedule compliance.

Armed with that information, Marathon tasked their central support team with the implementation of schedule compliance measurement reporting.  During the design phase of compliance reporting Marathon again approached APM to review their concept document.  Terry Schaefer, an experienced APM Schedule Consultant, was assigned to lead this effort.

Marathon relied heavily on Mr. Schaefer during the pilot testing phase. To validate that Marathon’s reporting satisfied both industry standards and their own concept document, he created a parallel schedule compliance reporting process.  He established an excellent working relationship with the central support team and was able to provide relevant and timely feedback.  This allowed adjustments to be made in time for each round of pilot testing.  Mr. Schaefer’s parallel reporting process enable matching down to each activity resource assignment to pinpoint any variances.  This detail provided the data necessary for proper analysis so that Mr. Schaefer could determine the source of several variances from the reporting goal.

Due to Accelerated PM, LLC’s assistance, Marathon will go live with highly accurate compliance reporting in corporate Key Performance Indicator reports in the first quarter of 2010.
